Our client is a multi-disciplinary consultancy firm providing comprehensive engineering, environmental, planning and surveying services throughout Australia. They have been operating for over 40 years and have recently had investment from a highly successful Australian Private Equity fund.
Due to ambitious growth plans across the business, we are seeking a Strategy / Corporate Development Manager who will be the first hire into the Strategy Division and will be responsible for driving organic and inorganic growth initiatives in the business. This person will report to the Chief Financial Officer and assist and drive strategic planning, operational improvement, M&A, and other strategic initiatives. Some key responsibilities of the role include providing operational KPI analysis and modelling, supporting strategic pricing work and performing competitive analysis, developing detailed financial evaluations to support proposed projects, assist with M&A execution, and identify improvement opportunities and formulate strategies to address business challenges. This role will ideally be based in their Head office in Adelaide, but we will also consider candidates based out of Brisbane.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience (no more than 12 years) gained in Investment Banking, Big 4, or an in-house strategy/corporate development role. Strong financial modelling skills is a key requirement of the role, and you should be capable of building and auditing large complex models. The candidate will be a self-starter who is able to work independently and has strong financial and commercial acumen.
