Our client is a private boutique investment management firm with a strong track record of deployment in the Real Estate Financing space. The role is working alongside two senior Directors who are responsible for strategy, deals and capital raising. As a junior resource you will have exposure to the end-to-end process of deal origination, execution, portfolio management and fund raising.
Typical deals for the fund are $8-25mio tickets, returning 8-13% for first lien mortgage and senior secured loans. The team originates transactions across the Eastern seaboard in the residential, commercial and industrial real estate sectors. The fund deploys out of a small discretionary open-ended fund and also raises capital for single asset deals. The business is connected to a group of high-net-worth investors and family offices who readily put capital into the fund’s deals.
We are seeking a candidate with 3- 6 years of relevant experience in real estate financing. It is most likely this will come from a bank, professional services firm or private debt fund. We are open to considering candidates covering other sectors within credit, but the candidate must be willing and interested in building a career in real estate debt. Candidates should be adept at lending processes, understand financial models, credit documentation and transaction processes. Some exposure to loan portfolio management will also be beneficial. It is expected the candidate will have a strong academic background, be analytical and driven. The candidate must come with an intuitive outlook, be team oriented and self-motivated.
