This highly regarded proprietary trading firm is seeking a Quantitative Researcher to join their team in the APAC region. Known for being a leading global market maker, dedicated to improving financial markets through advanced quantitative research and cutting-edge technology. Their team of quantitative researchers develops and tests automated trading strategies using sophisticated statistical techniques, leveraging large data sets and innovative methodologies to model market behaviour and drive execution performance. They foster a culture of continuous learning, meritocracy, and integrity, where individuals are empowered to make a real impact.
As a Quantitative Researcher, you will be responsible for conducting research and statistical analysis to evaluate securities and identify trading opportunities. You will work with large and unconventional data sets to predict and test statistical market patterns, develop and refine mathematical models, and translate algorithms into executable code. Your work will involve back testing and optimizing trading models for live market execution, collaborating closely with traders, engineers, and other researchers to refine strategies.
The ideal candidate will have an advanced degree in mathematics, statistics, physics, computer science, or another highly quantitative field, along with a strong foundation in probability, statistics, and machine learning techniques. Prior experience in a data-driven research environment is highly valued, as is hands-on programming experience in Python, R, Matlab, or C++.
