ABOUT THE COMPANY & ROLE

Platinum Pacific Partners has a long-standing partnership with a leading private equity firm based in Sydney. The firm has a long-term presence and commitment to the Australian private equity market and is looking for an Associate/Analyst within its private credit investment team.

 

The firm is renowned for its performance, reputation, and culture. This is a diverse role that will require you to take responsibility for data analysis, process improvement, investor and performance reporting, and investment support.

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES:

 

  • Analysing asset level data and investment performance reporting information across a private credit loan portfolio
  • Maintaining all data generated by the portfolio and creating / refining data management and reporting processes to deliver improved reporting quality and efficiency across the fund
  • Extracting key information from underlying data sources, mapping it to internal templates and models, and providing quarterly portfolio reporting updates to the deal team
  • Assisting the deal team and investor relations team with asset data and reporting queries from external parties
  • Liaising with the Finance team and deal team to steer counterparty KYC and onboarding processes, support fund audit data collection, and facilitate external audit reporting Q&A
  • Identifying, documenting, formalising, and optimising internal administrative processes to improve the efficiency of day-to-day operations and reduce operational / process risk across the fund
  • Locating, collating, and processing external macroeconomic and company data for use in investment research and due diligence.
  • On occasion attend market conferences, seminars, and information sessions to better inform the macroeconomic database and reporting

 

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • A strong academic pedigree knowledge
  • 2-4 years’ experience ideally from an alternative investment environment but those coming from asset management, private credit or Investment Banking will also be considered
  • Well-developed communication skills and prior experience analyzing and presenting data
  • Advanced Excel skills including data organization and manipulation
  • Financial Modelling – while you won’t need to construct financial models, experience in reading and interpreting data through financial modelling will be highly regarded
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability and high attention to detail
  • A creative and rational approach
