Due to growth, new product launches, and a surge in investment performance, a role has been created for a commercially aware Operations Manager to join a dynamic and innovative environment led by a high-performing executive team. You will be joining a small Investment Operations team, where you will play an integral part in supporting the continued growth of the business.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this Operations Manager position is unique and one of the first of its kind. It requires an individual who understands not just fund and investment operations, operational risk, operational excellence, and new product launches, but also technology and data integration. The ideal candidate is passionate about IT including artificial intelligence, applications, and IT/cyber security, and can manage operational risk for both business processes and data, working closely with a third-party IT provider.

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Working closely with the COO, you will be involved in operational strategy, operational readiness and excellence, and new product launches.
  • Oversee investment operations with a strong emphasis on IT.
  • Ensure seamless data integration and technological efficiency across all operations.
  • Manage key service provider relationships, including investment systems, IT and the custodian.
  • Work with the relevant external service providers to ensure a best-in-class functionality and automation to accommodate future growth.
  • Working closely with the COO to implement the Operations and IT strategy including initiatives in artificial intelligence, applications and robotic automation to enhance performance across the business.
  • Implement and maintain IT security/cyber protocols to protect sensitive data and business operations.
  • Identify and mitigate operational risks associated with business and data processes.
  • Work with the wider team to ensure accurate reporting, investment committee reporting and ongoing management of relationships with associated fund managers and service providers

 

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, engineering or a related field, with at least 5-8 years’ fund or investment operation experience with a focus on IT. from within an asset management environment.
  • Strong understanding of technology, data integration and IT security linked to operational best practices.
  • Ability to manage priorities and resources to effectively deal with changes in demand
  • A “people person” who is a critical thinker with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Future-focused and innovative, with the ability to anticipate and manage change
  • Strong written skill and understanding of compliance to develop documentation for operations process and policies.
  • Ability to be hands on and get things done.
