- Newly Created Role
- Private Markets – Growth Fund
- Hands-on role leading a small team in Sydney
Company Overview:
Platinum Pacific Partners is exclusively partnering with a boutique private equity firm entering an exciting phase of growth and innovation following the successful raising of its second fund. As part of this expansion, we are creating a new position for an Operations Director to lead a small, experienced team and drive operational excellence across all non-investment functions. This role will oversee areas such as legal, compliance, fund accounting, finance management, HR, and recruitment.
We are seeking an experienced operations leader with a background in investment management, ideally within private markets, and expertise in P&L management, governance implementation, and private market fund structures. Candidates with a strong understanding of AFSL requirements and the Australian regulatory environment are preferred. This pivotal role will focus on identifying operational gaps and developing the firm’s framework to support its ambitious growth trajectory.
You will ideally have boutique investment management experience in a hands-on role without the teams and support structures of larger organisations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a small team and oversee day-to-day non-investment operations, ensuring streamlined processes and efficient workflows.
- Handle all compliance matters, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and managing our relationship with the Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL) bodies.
- Oversee back and middle office functions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in operations.
- Take charge of financial operations, ensuring robust financial oversight and control.
- Lead and execute various projects to support growth and improve operational efficiency.
- Foster a collaborative environment and develop a high-performing operations team as the firm continues to expand.
Experience Requited:
The successful candidate will have an outstanding academic background, deep knowledge of investment management (ideally in alternative investments), and proven fund operations experience. They should possess expertise in managing regulatory compliance within a robust framework, a strong understanding of financial services regulations, and demonstrated project management skills. Expertise in corporate, M&A, or financial services law, along with a solid grasp of financial services legislation and a natural aptitude for project management, will be highly regarded.
The role is based in Sydney. If you possess these qualifications and are interested in exploring this opportunity in the strictest of confidence, please apply by following the links below or contact Liam Bourke at lb@platinumpacific.com.au to discuss further.
