This opportunity represents a role that is perfectly positioned at the intersection of investing for returns and investing for the future. With a large pool of capital to deploy across a range of sectors, including renewables, technology, defence and medical sciences, the investment mandate is broad and is focused on commercial, responsible and self-sustainable investing which will improve economic diversity for Australia on a whole.
We are seeking an Investment Director who will focus on Venture Capital and Venture Debt. A pool of capital will be allocated to investments across Series A and Series B and then another pool across Series C, D and growth stage. The investments will be across hardware and software. The breadth of the mandate is extraordinary and will appeal to candidates who are comfortable with fluidity, a small team and care about supporting the future sustainability of Australian industries.
The Investment Director is a key leadership role within the investment team, responsible for originating and executing deals as well as overseeing the strategic direction, management, and performance of investment portfolios. This position requires a seasoned professional with demonstrable experience leading deals with multidisciplined teams, investment strategies, and risk management. The Investment Director will lead a team of investment professionals, providing guidance, direction, and mentorship to ensure the achievement of investment objectives.
Ideally your background will include 12+ years of experience which can come from a mix of roles, but you must have experience at the senior level within Venture Capital or Venture Debt. The individual will have previously worked directly with founders and have experience scaling businesses. Ideally you will have thrived and survived in a high-performance team and are adaptable. An ability to work with empathy, humility and with an understanding of the founder’s mentality will also be highly regarded.
