- New private credit team in established sovereign wealth fund
- Culture of seizing opportunities and driving strong returns for investors
- Opportunity to join a lean team in their next phase of growth
Our client is a sovereign wealth fund with a range of investing strategies across private equity, listed equity, infrastructure and private credit. Private Credit is a new strategy that was launched in the last five years within this organisation. As such, you will be a part of a relatively new and lean team that are in a business building phase. The team will begin to raise third party capital this year and are currently deploying from a $1bn fund (half deployed). You will be given the opportunity to grow with the investment team whilst also feeling like you are working for a larger, well-known parent umbrella. This team is known for seizing opportunities, navigating ambiguity, and delivering strong returns to their investors.
The three key deal types of the Private Debt team include leveraged finance, real estate and structured finance. Sponsor financing accounts for 60% of transactions and focuses predominantly on mid-market sponsors in Australia. This will include bilateral transactions, as well as, some club deals. The typical ticket size is $50 million to $100 million, with low, double digit returns.
The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience, ideally within private credit, advisory or an M&A role. You will be someone who has strong financial modelling skills and excellent credit documentation experience. You must be able to simplify complex information for due diligence and credit analysis purposes. Culturally, you will bring a can-do attitude, be a team player and have a natural curiosity for investment opportunities.
