About the Role

The role will act as an Assistant Portfolio Manager (AMP) for Crescent Capital Partners newly launched Active Convergence Fund, a global long/short equities fund with a focus on small-to-mid-cap companies. This position bridges Crescent’s 25-year private equity expertise with innovative listed equity strategies, emphasizing rigorous fundamental research, active ownership and portfolio management. The APM will collaborate closely with the Portfolio Manager and a dynamic team in Sydney, contributing to investment analysis, portfolio construction, and mentorship of analysts. The role will offer the opportunity for a senior analyst to form and shape the strategy of the fund and portfolio construction from its inception, leveraging Cresent Capital Partner’s deep industry / sector knowledge and track record of success in private markets investing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform rigorous fundamental research and financial modeling on potential investments.
  • Develop and present well-founded investment theses to the Investment Committee.
  • Collaborate on portfolio construction, optimization, and rebalancing.
  • Monitor the performance of existing investments and assess associated risks.
  • Guide and mentor analysts, ensuring a high-performance and collaborative culture.
  • Engage with management teams, industry experts, and investors, representing Crescent at key meetings and presentations.
  • Track macroeconomic trends, industry developments, and market dynamics.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to enhance the fund’s strategy.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal investment policies.
  • Assist in identifying and mitigating portfolio risks.

 

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will bring 8+ years of experience in strategy consulting, private equity, or listed equities, with strong skills in financial modelling, valuation, and investment analysis. They will possess expertise in portfolio construction and delivering returns, complemented by excellent communication and relationship-building abilities. An MBA or CFA, exposure to long/short strategies, and global equity markets are highly desirable. As an analyst you will have a long-term view and bring a passion for deeply understanding individual companies and industries and enjoy deep dive due diligence and analysis on a concentrated universe of companies and targets.
